Caribou Post-Release Supervision

A person released from state confinement may serve parole in Caribou County. Parole is conditional release into the community before the sentence has fully ended. A court may instead order probation, which permits community supervision under the judgment rather than prison confinement. IDOC's Division of Probation and Parole administers both kinds of community supervision, while the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole makes parole decisions.

District 6 serves the region from Pocatello. IDOC also lists a Soda Springs satellite at the Caribou County courthouse address. The satellite gives assigned clients a local reporting point, but the address does not prove that every Caribou County client reports there. Use the live IDOC record and instructions from the assigned officer. Office staff cannot replace the sheriff's release timestamp or the clerk's certified court order.

Verify District 6 Supervision

Start with the IDOC Resident/Client Search. Search by IDOC number when known, or by name. Compare age, offense, sentencing county, and case number before selecting a person. An “In community” record may list the supervising district, officer, office address, and telephone number. IDOC says public information is updated daily, so a fresh release or reassignment may not appear at once.

1. Open the matching IDOC detail and record the exact overall status.
2. Read Released to Supervision and Sentence Satisfaction fields separately.
3. Confirm that District 6 is actually named; do not infer it from residence.
4. Call the listed office for current routing, using only appropriate identity details.
5. Use IDOC Records Information when a historical assignment or discharge needs formal proof.

District 6 Offices and Contact

The District 6 office is at 1246 Yellowstone Avenue, Suite F, Pocatello, Idaho 83201-4310, telephone 208-237-9194. The Soda Springs satellite is at 159 South Main, Soda Springs, telephone 208-547-1813, fax 208-237-2646. Confirm the assigned office from the live record before travel.

Reporting dates, travel approvals, check-in methods, and case instructions come from the assigned officer or office. A public web result should not be treated as permission to miss a report or change an approved plan. District 6 Is Not Custody

Neither District 6 office confines people. There is no inmate roster, booking desk, release gate, visitation program, or jail release log at these addresses. A listed supervision office is evidence that IDOC manages a person in the community. It does not show the precise time that Caribou County Jail or an IDOC institution physically released that person.

The courthouse and Soda Springs satellite share a street address, but their records remain distinct. The clerk maintains judicial orders. IDOC maintains supervision information.

Parole, Probation, and Discharge

Parole follows a prison term and is granted by the Commission under Idaho law. Probation arises from a court judgment. Both can involve IDOC supervision, conditions, an assigned officer, and responses to noncompliance. Discharge is the end of the applicable sentence or supervision obligation, not merely a move between offices.

Conditional community release while a state sentence continues.

Court-ordered community supervision under the judgment.

Absconder

A person alleged to have stopped required contact or whose location is unknown.

Discharge

Completion of the legal correctional obligation.

Note: A supervision label describes legal status, not a person's physical presence at an office.

Violations and Absconder Status

A missed condition can lead to an officer response, court process, Commission action, warrant, arrest, or return to custody, depending on the case. A public “In community” label should not be read as proof that no violation or warrant exists. Data timing matters. Likewise, a rumor of an absconder status is not a warrant record.

Check the IDOC detail first. Then use iCourt for public court activity and contact the assigned office for routing. Do not ask office staff to disclose protected case details. If custody resumes, Idaho VINE may provide a status alert, while the arresting or holding agency supplies the booking record.

How Supervision Ends

Supervision can end when the legal sentence is satisfied or a competent authority enters the required discharge. The IDOC detail may show a Sentence Satisfaction Date, but that field must be read with sentence status and case information. A projected date can change, while a historical satisfaction entry may require a formal record for context.

Keep the court judgment, later amendments, IDOC supervision dates, and discharge documentation together. Successful probation can also matter for relief under Idaho Code § 19-2604, but qualifying dismissal or set-aside relief is not automatic deletion of every jail and agency record. Use the actual order and agency response.
